We've been machining component parts for a variety of Customers
and Industries through the years. A-1 Production provides a variety of
machining services including, turning of steels and alloys. We
manufacture hardened and ground bushings, fittings, adaptors,
and pins to print specifications provided by our customers. We
are versatile enough to make large volumes or small runs. If
it's round, square or hex we can turn it, drill it, mill it,
thread it, and/or bore it.
At A-1 Production
Our core competency comes from years of machining hardened and
ground steel bushings straight or with shoulders, straight
grooves, and spiral grooves, cross holes drilled and tapped. We
have also always machined fittings, adapters, pins and spacers from steel,
stainless steel, carbon alloys, bronze, brass, aluminum and
monel.
We can machine that 20 - 50 piece order as
well as the 200,000 plus pieces required for your annual usage.
A-1 works with blanket orders, shipping the parts to schedule
which improves the pricing for the parts. In addition to
turning, boring, threading, tapping and milling we provide ID
and OD grinding services. Packaging and assembly services are done in
house.
Established in 1949
A-1 Production has become a Leader in
Custom Machining through experience by machining various
materials and components for 59 years and continuing to grow and
change with the world around us. The company was originally
founded by a farmer with the equipment to do machining and
fabrication, the work to do and in need of capital to get
started. Even back in 1949 Doctors were looking for investments
in start up companies and a certain Lawyer who knew a particular
Doctor were able to tie it
all together and the three of them started A-1 Production Inc.
out on a rural road to the north of Kendallville Indiana. And so
to this day we remain out on a rural road to the north of Kendallville
but the ownership has changed through the years along with the
equipment and the abilities to machine.
A-1 is the small business with big abilities
This is because
the people who work here have been machining parts for many
years. Many of the employees have been here 20 years and more,
refining their machining skills as we update equipment and
practices. As we add new employees they are taught the ropes
with an emphasis on quality and efficiency in all the work that
they do. We have developed a culture where the customer is
always first with us and we will go the extra mile to ensure the
parts they receive are of the quality they are looking for.
